Newbaric Design Co. represents the work of Brian Lindstrom. Newbaric builds brands via thoughtful and well researched design.
Born and brainwashed with Midwest roots and the Chicago "can-do" attitude. I was transplanted to the wild wild west coast of California where I grew up and and found graphic design in 1999. Fast forward through over a decade of design, and I am now at the University of Wisconsin, pursuing my MFA in Graphic Design and Brand Strategy.
The next few years went fast, so stick with me. I did my time at Infinity Surfboards in Dana Point, CA for the better part of a decade, starting my design career there back in 1999. Logos, magazine ads and the occasional eye candy were created for the shop. While working full-time I made it through design school, an internship, and my early twenties. From there I made a right turn and freelanced for design firms and some other fantasmic portfolio building jobs. But wait, there's more...
Corporate America took hold of my mid-twenties where I designed for Oakley Sunglass Company. Identity, apparel graphics, logos and environmental graphics were some of the happenings in those parts. The knowledge gained and friendships that were made at Oakley are guiding factors that have stuck with me. There is something great about in-house design teams that cannot be replicated. Oakley and Newbaric still work together to this day.
Newbaric Design Co. has morphed from it's beginnings in 1999 and has existed as we know it since 2005. The leap was taken and I now work on various projects with a diverse client list. My days are filled with printed collateral, logos and identity systems, apparel graphics, poster designs, illustrations, editorial advertising and lots of other darn fun projects. Building brands and having a splendid time.
Newbaric has grown year after year. I am continuing this growth and relationships with my clients during my tenure at the University of Wisconsin. The MFA program provides a huge opportunity for myself and my clients to grow in ways not possible otherwise.
